Install Kalila for Mac
- Open the downloaded Kalila disk image and drag Kalila to Applications.
- Open Kalila: its icon appears in the menu bar.
- To translate selected text in other apps with ⌃⌥T, allow Kalila in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility.
Languages on the Mac
Kalila uses Apple's on-device translation. If a language isn't on your Mac yet, Kalila shows a Download button; you can also manage the languages in System Settings → General → Language & Region → Translation Languages.
The browser extension
Select text and click the Kalila button next to it, or press ⌃⌥T on a Mac (Alt+T on Windows and Linux). To translate words as soon as you select them, turn on “Translate selected words on websites” at the top of the extension's window. To translate a page, click the extension's icon → Translate this page, or right-click the page; Alt+Shift+P does it from the keyboard.
With Kalila for Mac installed, the extension finds it by itself; the extension's settings show the connection.
